A new twist to the typical roundtable meeting!
Dig into a real case study and figure out what you would have done differently. We will present a real-life case study on a one of the following case studies and your group will discuss what went wrong and how to get it back on track or prevent it from happening in the future.
The choices are:
1. Oregon’s Affordable Care Act implementation: Cover Oregon.
2. Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance system upgrade: QUEST.
3. Litigation case of a Plaintiff (B2C business) suing a System Integrator over a failed Point of Sale implementation.
Time will only allow for one topic to be covered. The initial 20 to 30 minutes of the presentation will be defining the case study and the remaining time will be the presenter facilitating the discussion by asking the audience questions about the case.
The questions could include:
• What cultural aspects of the project lead to its demise and how could you as the project manager change that?
• How would you have escalated the issues?
• At what point in the project do you think people knew it was going bad and what could have been done differently?
• What were the roles of people, process, and technology in the project’s issues and how could you as the project manager affected a change?
